Dr. K.P. Jayachandran has been working as a scientist  at IST, University of Lisbon, Portugal since 2008 prior to joining Mahatma Gandhi University in 2021. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Institute of Earth Science, Academia Sinica, Taiwan from 2002 and at Technical University of Lisbon, Portugal from 2005 until 2008. Dr. Jayachandran has been working as Research Assistant Professor since 2008 in the Mechanical Engineering department at University of Lisbon, Portugal until he joined School of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, MGU in 2021. He taught Solid mechanics and Matlab during this tenure in University of Lisbon.

Dr. Jayachandran has published more than 35 papers in International journals, and has presented as many papers in International conferences in Europe, Asia and  in the USA. His publications can be seen as it is indexed in the web search engine Google scholar. He holds a PhD degree in theoretical physics from Mahatma Gandhi University and did his MSc in physics from CMS college, Kottayam. Dr. Jayachandran took advanced research courses at the Universities of Copenhagen (Denmark),  Helsinki (Finland), Basque (Spain), and Lisbon (Portugal).
